I just saw this morning that liberal Stanford cancelled in-person Summer session because of their fear of blackouts.
I don't want to see people suffer, but a majority of the CA population (versus discrete areas) going through longer blackouts all Summer might wake up some of the people there that can still think for themselves.

Will they be conducting on-line classes? Meaning that instead of putting 'X' number of students all in one room and using physical sound for the instructor's comments to reach the students, every student will be sitting at home (or somewhere) with a computer turned on, and probably with an air conditioner turned on, using electricity to transmit the course material over the Internet.
Yep, that should save lots of energy.

Twain of course was joking. But for a time artists did use a pigment called Egyptian Brown which was made from mummies . . . but its popularity fell off pretty quick once artists found out the origin of this paint.
As for what they'll actually do in California . . . I don't know. But being its California, it probably won't be good.

Well Newsome is keeping the nuclear plant going longer then planed and is talking about coal. I guess he figured out that if the people are sitting in the dark during the heat of summer they might not vote for him.

You can’t argue with that level of stupidity.
They've been upgrading the aging electrical infrastructure in Iowa, mostly rebuilding existing transmission and distribution lines and adding more. The argument made here isn't more wind/solar but folks talking about property rights and how landowners shouldn't sell utility easements.

One of the pleasant shocks for me when I left CA was how easy and inexpensive it was to deal with local and state government for things like my license, vehicle registration, permits (more precisely, the lack thereof), etc. Not to mention my vehicle insurance costs being cut in half. I think people who took his advice might be in for a bit of a shock. But then, people who would move to CA for the things he listed might not care.
