While it makes for great jokes, when you think about it, if you're a "civilians should have armor" guy (I am), the idea of something pillow sized that you can quickly grab and protect yourself with in a home invasion or whatever is really not a bad idea. Other than they might not (or they might) be the most comfortable pillow. =)

$300 seems a bit steep for a pillow and a $129 piece of soft armor.

Don't forget sewn on straps to carry it like a shield!
I like the idea even if it is only pistol rated. I doubt I would want to actually sleep on it. There might be other items that would make better disguised armor.

I actually have some level II armor in storage here from the old job. Just for kicks, I might pull out one of the inserts and stick it between a couple of memory foam pillows to see what that feels like.

Somewhere I have a backpack with a rifle rated coated steel plate. I would rather find a way to carry that. Maybe I could build some sort of frame to hold it.
