Title: Anybody know furs/animal hides?
Post by: Paddy on July 10, 2007, 10:49:54 AM
What are these and are they worth anything?

I've got some more bits and pieces not shown.  The first one is the biggest; is it deerskin?

Tops ones look like deer.  Bottom ones .... mink, maybe?  No idea what any of them would be worth.

Some of it's made into clothing.  This is two handwarmers, a purse and a hat.  The long one on top is some animal.  Still has the head; somebody even put eyes in it.

The whole critter looks like a mink wrap.  Big fashion statement in the pre-bunnyhugger era.

Deer hides with hair on are maybe worth $10-25 a piece.

Not sure about the fancier fur, looks like mink and sable, guessing I would say $200 for the lot on ebay.

At the bottom pic is a muff, probably mink.  Maybe 3 of them.  The biggest one is I would guess an antique from Victorian times.  The others newer.  They actually sell pretty well on eBay but wait until Sept/Oct.

Don't let Jim March see the pic of that long skinny critter.

the little pieces of fur might be muskrat.
Hard to tell with out actually touching the fur.
