LOL!
Even though Bucky isn't the best face for the Republican Party, I'm glad that the dumb, well-meaning dog is (apparently) a Democrat.
-
I can only speak for the first three Get Fuzzy compilations, but political humor is never heavy-handed.
I hate it when a comic decides to go rabidly political (unless it was to begin with, like Day By Day ) and ruins itself. I hope Get Fuzzy has stayed light on the subject.
-
Day by Day gets old after a while, too. It's kind of like an updated Doonesbury with scantily-clad Barbie-doll females. It was intriguing at first, but I'm considering de-linking it from my blog site. Even my favorite Bloom County dabbled in it from time to time, but they managed to get most of their laughs sans the political satire.
-
I thought Bloom County's political satire was incredible.
For example...
And, of course, the best of all Bloom County's political strips...
-
"Liberals near extinction"?
I hope I'm alive to see that.
Great cartoon.
-
Classic Bloom County. Brings back a lot of memories.
-
Oh, I've got the Liberal Hunting strip in color over my reloading bench. So, yeah, when they did political satire, it was great, but they didn't make it their bread and butter.
I was gonna build a small Turnip Twaddler to sit next to my Opus doll in the office...

That is why I love Calvin and Hobbes and The Far Side.
Just a boy and his stuffed tiger getting into mischief. Reminds me of me at that stage of life now.
And someone with just a twisted sense of humor.
-
HEY
I like solar panels and stuff.
That doesn't make me a liberal does it?

Depends.
If you like solar panels and stuff because you hate paying money to "the man" or "the Arabs" to heat your home and you think of it as an avenue for American inventiveness and knowhow, then you're fine.
If, however, you like solar panels and stuff because you're trying desperately to offset your carbon footprint and hate man's continuous exploitation of Mother Earth, then you're a liberal weenie.
-
OK, what if one's motivation for putting up solar panels on the home is BOTH Mike?
-

You're a misguided Liberal and you need to be taxed to the point you convert a right wing nut job

That means you're an abomination to both causes and you are to be cast out as unclean.

KEWL!!!
I will only complicate you.
Trust in me and fall as well.

Good, then I'm normal.
I've become fairly convinced that global warming is not man made, if it exists at all. But I agree that less pollution is better. I just don't agree with all the nutty ways of cutting back on it like some of the extremists think.
But my main reason for going green is saving money.
Geothermal heatpump, solar hot water, solar panels...can't wait to own a house.

Shucks, you're going pretty far back, there.

[Beavis & Butthead]Dude, if I could move my arm that fast, I'd never leave the house...[/Beavis & Butthead]

I was just listening to that on the way home from work. By the way, I am the man.

Shucks, I was already four years out of college, divorced and into my first career track when that CD was released.

I knew I wasn't the only Tool fan on here! The fact that my 10,000 Days is all scratched and won't play Vicarious right makes me sad, tho. I really need to go to a record store.....
