BenW, I'm pretty much in the same boat.   Republican with Libertarian leanings one day, Libertarian w/ Republican leanings the other.

I resemble that remark.

I abhor party politics.  Candidates should run on their platforms and nothing else.  (Yeah, that'll happen.)

People tell me I'm a libertarian, but the way I see it I'm also a Burke style conservative and a classical liberal too.

If Republicans were who I once thought they were and stood for what I once thought they stood for, I'd be a Republican.

Instead, I find the Libertarian Party to be much more in-line with what I believe the Republican Party used to be and still claims to be for the most part even today.

There was the Bull Moose (Progressive) Party formed by my hero Teddy Roosevelt.  I think it's time for the Burr Butt party, myself.   grin

I'm a member of the apathy party. Ceased caring about two years ago. Don't even remember why.

Wake me up when the shootin' starts.

I was a member of the Republican Party, but I haven't renewed my membership for several years. When they start acting like Republicans again, I may reconsider.

But it's still funny.

I prefer whichever party believes in freedom and best acts in that way...
with a moderate amount of pragmatism mixed in.

You've summed up my feelings exactly Monkeyleg.

I prefer whichever party believes in freedom and best acts in that way...
with a moderate amount of pragmatism mixed in.

A good summation of what I think the Pubbies should be like. Pragmatic freedom.

I don't do parties.  I'm an equal opportunity basher.  I don't think there is a cup of warm spit (sic) differencebetween the two.

I'm a Cynic-American when it comes to politics and politicians.

One of my favorite stickers from the 2004 elections said: I haven't decided who I'm not voting against.  That's where I'm afraid I'll be when the primaries end.  Ron Paul has some ideas I don't agree with, but he's still someone I could vote for.

LORETTA: The People's Front of Judea. Splitters.

REG: We're the People's Front of Judea!

LORETTA: Oh. I thought we were the Popular Front.

REG: People's Front! C-huh.

FRANCIS: Whatever happened to the Popular Front, Reg?

REG: He's over there.
