Title: Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas
Post by: HForrest on June 23, 2005, 03:08:43 PM: Just finished reading this book. I generally do not like reading... on very few occasions have I read a book simply because I wanted to. However, I was intrigued by Hunter S. Thompson. The book was great. Although I haven't read many books, this is my absolute favorite. It's hard to describe, but I'm sure many here have read it. One the easiest books I've ever read, too. Very quick.I will definitely read more Hunter S. Thompson books.

yeah it's pretty darn good.

i would say the movie is pretty much the BEST way for an inexperienced person to see what it is like to turn on.

that scene of them checking into the hotel. too much!

Next, I would suggest "Hell's Angels".

I had a similar experience with "The Rum Diary" but all packed into the first time I read it.

Post by: crt360 on June 24, 2005, 10:48:45 AM: Fear and Loathing was a good read. I agree with Brrlgrrl, check out "Hell's Angels" next. I think those two were easily Thompson's best works.

Didn't set my world on fire. Neither did 'Catcher in the Rye'.
