Glad you had fun. Sounds like a good experience. Still, I don't understand why you did not bring multiple guns with you; if you had, some of the problems you encountered would have been avoided.
I also brought my grandpa's old Marlin Model 81 bolt action .22. I tried it out at the beginning of the second day, but I knew after the second string I was not going to work out. Just not enough time to re-adjust to a new rifle in the time allotted.
Frankly, it was eating my neighbor's 16" & 18" bbl muzzle blast at 3 feet that was more an issue than my Swede's recoil. My shoulder was less sore after firing 200 rounds prone, sitting, & standing than it is after shooting 20 rounds off the bench.
My other options were greater, recoil-wise (Yugo M48 Mauser, Turk T38 Mauser, M44 Mosin...& like rifles). I do not own an AR15 or M14/M1A and currently can not afford one.
Kinda surprised that so many AR's were present, but few to no FAL's?
I noticed that too. No mention of AUG's or G3's either. If I lived in a free state, I would have loaded up on those, funds permitting.
