I don't know if chips are standard, but it makes me want to check all of my guns. Especially the HK.

I haven't stripped any of my revolvers because I don't know enough about them to be able to put them back together. Haven't really felt a desire to learn, either.

Make sure you unload the gun first.
And remove the rest of the metal parts from the gun.

Again, the microwave. Chuck the polymer frame in the ol' magic toaster for 10 seconds, and any chips will be fried.
Guys, don't sweat it. Just wrap your guns in tin foil. Works for my noggin.
