Title: Should I start a blog?
Post by: Perd Hapley on July 27, 2005, 07:46:38 PM
I have a notion to start a blog, through blogger.com.

I'd really like a place to dispense my distilled wisdom.  I figure I would run it like a weekly column, and then post responses every two or three days.  I haven't spent much time on blogs, and don't know a whole lot about them; I just like writing and broadcasting my opinion.

Will this take hours every day?

Any suggestions?

Anybody want me to spend my time on a blog, instead of annoying you here on the APS?

Thanks, fistful.

Blogs are convenient repositories of thought, which one can shape toward almost end in interpersonal internet communication. You can have a weekly collumn, short updates on your life, or just a place to link people to where you have your basic political arguments, IE "Why gun rights," "Why libertarianism," or "Why aliens own all of us."

Give it a try. And keep us updated!

PS: mine is at www.livejournal.com/users/haschen

I keep my friends apprised of my activities, post pictures, ask for advice, etcetera. It's probably not interesting unless you know me, however it might give you an idea of how they are run. To get more samples, just click the friends button in the upper right corner, to see all of my friend's livejournal posts. Again, not interesting unless you know them, but it might give you more ideas.

Good luck!

One could rent a billboard or two. One could buy a page in one's local newspaper. One could pay to have the story of one's life published. One could...

Well, today I had apple-muffin-pancakes, link sausage and cornmeal mush.  What's so stupid about that?  I bet a lot of people would like to know what I have for breakfast every day.

You're a meanie!

Why-do you have a great many uninteresting thoughts and musings that you feel you must share with the rest of us?   undecided

IMNSHO that's about all Blogs are good for.  I don't mind reading (or writing) that kind of Blog.  It's when they go all self-important that they become tedious.

OK, duckhunt, today my wife made some crepes for breakfast, and put yogurt and fruit in them.  We had smoothies to drink.
