Guy apparently got busted for drugs and plead guilty becoming a felon. Somewhere in the process he surrendered his gun. Courts would not allow him to transfer his guns to a 3rd party or a dealer claiming that was constructive possession.
the Supreme Court unanimously ruled in favor of the firearm owners by allowing them to transfer their weapons to independent third parties, including to have the weapons sold on the open market.
I think the caveat is it can't be someone the court might think would give the felon control of the weapons.
Seems like a good result but pretty narrow. Hard to believe it required an SC decision to allow this.
