Officer Friendly comes into my fenced yard and shoots both my dogs, I had better hear a compelling explanation as to why this was necessary.  Especially as you see the video.

I have often said that one of my dogs functions  (in addition to fuzziness) is early warning perimeter alarm.  You start to bypass my security measures with a firearm, and you've probably bought yourself a firefight.

Too many bad guys wear body armor and scream police.

I'll hope for a sympathetic jury if it wasn't a bad guy.

Quote
Body camera video from a Minneapolis police officer who shot and seriously wounded two dogs in a residential backyard not only shows the best view yet of the animals’ temperament and movements during the encounter, but the officer is heard moments later apologizing to a sobbing resident while declaring his love for dogs.

Sorry. People who love dogs don't shoot dogs who are wagging their tails.

Glad they survived.  But that was a wrenching video to watch.
The dogs seemed no threat to me.
Don't they test police candidates for judgement anymore?   Or are they only hiring retarded robots?

I bet that first dog wouldn't have wagged his tail so much if he know the cop was fixing to shoot him.   ;/

Where do PD find these jackasses?

Somehow, before wireless meters, for decades meter readers were managing to go into people's backyards with no gun and around 90% fewer incidents.

If these dogs were such a great threat, wouldn't the cop have been better off letting them handle the "burglar" while he secured the perimeter?

Hey, it's all good. The officer went home at the end of his shift.

And, these days, that's ALL that seems to count.

Have the cop pay ALL incurred expenses PLUS some to at least dent the pain and suffering his actions caused, THEN let the dog's owners shoot the cop in the ass and thigh!

As do postal workers.
Black people and pit bulls...the litmus test for what .gov can get away with.

Can't see it clearly, but I don't think the grey dog was a pit mix. I almost think it was a Presa.

Not that it matters. The officer had no business messing with those dogs, period. Ben is right. Shut the gate and wait for word from the partner, who was presumably up at the front of the house. By doing so they would have quickly found out that the alarm was tripped by accident and the daughter of the house was there.

It doesn't matter. It's a dog, therefore it's a pit bull. ALL dogs are pit bulls when you're a police officer.

PCness and all the other descriptives that have become ascendant in the Libtard nation contributes much to why many police departments are handing out badges and guns to people who have no business having a badge and a gun.

Candidates who desire to be in LE are passed over every day in order to get the right mix of race and gender as well as the physically and mentally unfit as well as those with a diminutive physical structure.
