If you said the Green Bar of Loading, right you are!
;/

Well, I was still clicking "Open in a New Window" for quotes at least half the time out of habit, anyway. Looks like I don't have to break that habit now.

I have yet to see this thing. It's the Bigfoot of APS.

We did a clean install, again. Site doesn't look compromised. What browser and OS are you using?
I'm talking to the hosting company about migrating us to SMF 2.x. With my limited access, it didn't go through the last time I tried. So we're up to date with the latest SMF 1.x software.
SMF File Your Version Current Version
SMF Package SMF 1.1.21 SMF 1.1.21
Sources 1.1.20 1.1.20
Default Templates 1.1.21 1.1.21
Language Files 1.1.21 1.1.21

You too? I figure I must be doing something wrong (or right) to have never had this issue.

=D
Same. I've never seen it in any browser.
-
Same thing I've been using for the last 4 years at the office...
Chrome 60.031 and Windows 7 Enterprise.
Standard desktop loadout here at the office.
Also happens with Intardnut Exploder.

I absolutely don't doubt people are seeing it. I just find the randomness bizarre.

I get the GBOL this morning. It has been working since the last repair. So strange.
-
GBOL: yes.
Porn stuff: no
"Intardnut Exploder": yes, 11, :laff:
Strange addressing in PMs: No

So is the random disappearance of avatars. These days, for example, I see avatars in this thread for Ben, 230RN, P12 and HeroHog ... but RevDisk, Mike Irwin and Dogmush are avatar-less. And my avatar doesn't show up.

I'm actually avatar-less. I haven't put a new one up after the photobucket thing.

Oh crapola, it is back. For the last week or two I would get the GBoL for just a few seconds, then the quote function would work. Now it's back in all of its colorful goodness.
-
Ha HA!
Count me in the crowd that's never witnessed the green bar of loading.
-
I've not had an avatar for many years.

Dumb question.
Could the randomness be explainable by the varying software at the ISP level?
Told you it was a dumb question, but if all other explanations fail, examine your premises.
There must be software from different sources available to ISPs, no? Maybe one "brand" interacts with SMF in certain circumstances to generate the problem: It loads the quote bar, then stops that process from the quote button, but not from the right-click, open in new tab process.

At least that would be an explanation as to why one lucky person and not another, and why some browsers and not others.
I'm not signing this one so nobody knows who the clown is.

OK, everyone, I've checked the gigabytes, and they're cromulent.

We could give you the Sta-Puf marshmellow man....
Jamis must be uploading more amputee midget pron again..

Well, that's a relief. Thanks for saving me the trouble of doing that.

Could that explain why I don't see it? ???

Mike,
As an IT professional, I have to ask, have you tried turning it off and back on again?
-
I'm getting it too. Win 7 Home Premium, Chrome Version 60.0.3112.113 (Official Build) (64-bit)

Jamis will fire up his SysAdmin skills tomorrow and get all over this....

Others which show appear to be from outside links, except I guess those linking to photobucket.

Wow...
The green bar of loading in this thread...
The red light of blinking in the thermostat thread...
The colors are against us!

This statement conjures an unsettling mental image for some reason.

You want unsettling?
Jamis just described, in great detail, his last office piss test to me.
THAT'S unsettling...

Mine lives on my server and isn't hosted by some service and that is probably the difference.
-
I am very disappointed that some of you are so eager to blame the victim for these cyber-attacks. I mean, really? "What software was she running?" These kinds of questions are not acceptable. Sad!
-
Huh, I don't see my own avatar today!
Apparently, it was deleted from my profile so I reset it. :old:

The server was using slutty software and was asking for it.

We have our top man working on it!

Have ya tried rebooting the server? How about a little "percussive maintenance?"

Holy crap, Herohog!
I've been looking for that for YEARS!
I first saw it back around 2005. I e-mailed it to some coworkers and it really touched a nerve because we were rolling out a new website for our division and it was about as frustrating as anything ever could have been!
Saved that one to my desktop! It's my precious!
-
Yer welcome Mike. I have a library of crap I find funny, snarky, useful that I have built over the years. Seeing as I have been on the internet since the early 80's, that encompasses a lot of crap!

I tried uploading it to Faceplace.
It told me that I couldn't because it wasn't 120 pixels tall.
So, I had to put it into an online .gif editor. When I did that and saved it as a slightly larger format, it ceased to function.
So, I had to run it through the editor again, enlarge it, and save it as an MP4.
Then I could upload it to Faceplace.

This big enough? =D ;/ :old:

I already solved the problem.
And the resolution on that one got... weird. It looks like it's printed on high-quality laid texture paper, the kind you'd put wedding invitations on.

Browsing therein, I snorted snot at a lot of them. Dickwheel was especially damaging. I love it when I don't get stuff right away and have to look at it awhile before it "clicks."

Has anyone else noticed the ignore function no longer working?

Did someone say something?
