Title: The rise (?) of independents in Washington state

Interesting to someone like me, who has consistently identified as an independent with no party affiliation and who votes for the candidate, not the party. Pretty hard to go against the established system, though.

Officially WA is a non-partisan state.  We just have politicians that "prefer" a given party.  Hasn't changed a damn thing.  These guys won't change anything either.

Hm.  Kind of noticed my last two ballots (Colorado) had no party designation on the candidates.  Kind of ignored it until now.  I wonder if blushingly blue Colorado is drifting to "no Parties," or what.  Maybe I'll call the State Sec's office and find out.  Could be just a County thing, though.
