I'm a fan of Armscor/Rock Island.
Both of my 1911s from them have been great.

I never knew I liked a double stack pistol until I shot my Springfield XDm in .45ACP.  Until now, I'd been a single stack 1911 kinda guy.  But it really fit my hand scarily well...  And there's something to be said for 13+1 of .45ACP....   17+1 of 10mm?

That's just a cross between......

So my Tactical started having issues.  I would guess I had somewhere around 4k through it, when the firing pin would stick.  Talked to Armscor, they had me send it in so they could take a look.  I expected I'd have to pay something, as the gun was several years old. A few weeks later, I just got a whole new complete upper slide.  No charge.

I've never had cause to engage their customer service but I've never heard anything bad about their level of service.

I saw the new Ruger 10 mm at a gun store recently and it felt good and solid, but it was single stack.  That looks equally nice.  I have an old Para P14.  I like the double stack grip.  That might be enough to get me into 10 mm if I had the money.

Have a RIA GI .45, full size.  Been fine, excepting a problem with the slide release.   And the typically sucky GI sights.  Would not have a problem with getting another.

Anyone but them doing mods will void their warranty.

I have a small pile of 10mm brass picked up at the club.  Is that enough excuse?

My next handgun is a Glock M40, this one is tempting, but the Glock is cheaper and does what I want it to do.

Well, I guess I will buck the trend...meh.

Yes it is pretty, but is it practical?

For competition, at least some matches it would work, but some it wouldn't.

10mm for a target pistol? Why not 40 S&W? Less recoil, cheaper to buy. Or 45 or 9mm, see where this is going?

I just don't see it, maybe as a hunting pistol.

For the record I do own a couple of 1911 platform 10mms, a Colt and a RIA. The RIA is a nice gun. The Colt was worked over by Ted Yost so I can't compare it to anything. Also I have a couple of 45 version and used to own a P14. Back in the day I gave  a lot of thought of converting a Para P16.40 into a 10mm. Now my tastes run a little smaller, I am thinking of turning an AMT Backup in 40 S&W into a 10mm.
