Instead of driving blacks deeper into alliance with the democrats he's inspiring them to walk away, with many of them becoming active supporters of his.

If the higher poll numbers are correct then the dems are done. I don't think there are enough Latino, legal or otherwise, voters to make up for that potential lost black vote. Also not enough Muslims just quite yet.

What I find encouraging isn't so much how many black votes move to the right, but how something like this could weaken the Racist Republican narrative. Which could lead to more people, of all colors, shifting to the right, further weakening the narrative. And so on.

Or maybe just back to the center.  When your opponents are practically Stalin, even a centrist looks like the right winger.
