30-year old man gets in an argument with his grandmother because he overdrew her debit card by $1,000, then gouges her eyes out. Doctors estimate less than a 1% chance that she'll regain sight in her eyes.
Here's a case where I think an old school, eye-for-an-eye approach is literally called for. I think an appropriate punishment would be to remove his eyes and transplant them into his grandmother.
I know ... I'm a bad person.

Sounds like a Solomon's decision to me.

Eye for an eye seems appropriate.

Divide him in two with a sword and give half to his mom and half to another woman?

Grief is expected to appear in court again on March 15. He could face up to 25 years in prison if he’s convicted.
Not long enough.
And he probably won't even get the full 25.

That story is probably worse than this, but bad all the same.

WINONA, Miss. —
A Mississippi man shot and killed his wife and two other people at her birthday party last week after she tried to stop him from driving drunk, investigators said.
Not sure what sort of angry drunk you have to be to do something like this.

Probably the kind that's not legally allowed to have a gun, and should have been in prison to begin with.

I don't believe in torture as punishment, it's not good for the person(s) administering it.
BUT - I DO believe in putting down mad dogs.

Nobody said anything about torture. It's about restitution, not retribution.

Didn't see that one coming.
