Silly American, the Brits aren't allowed to defend themselves.  That is a job for the government.

My entire knowledge of pop culture exists almost entirely through Simpsons references.

And, since I haven't watched it in 15-20 years, that's probably why I have almost no knowledge of modern pop culture.
