But it's pointless to use full cashews, buy the broken pieces in bulk. Much cheaper.

Looks similar to vegan cheesecake. A friend makes vegan queso dip that is cashew based, if you didn't know it wasn't real cheese queso you wouldn't know the difference.

My wife brought home some vegan butter made from cashew. It's magnificent.
I'd replace real butter with it if I could afford it.
If veganism starts to take off, the cashew business might become a cash cow.

True, raw cashews sold in stores are steamed, not roasted/fried like the ones in cans.
