Title: Kwik Star/Kwik Trip bacon
Post by: charby on February 20, 2020, 09:36:14 PM
Their applewood smoked bacon is really good and on sale through 3-26-2020 for $1.99 for a 12 oz package, limit 5 per purchase.

I drive by one everyday, I'll be stocking up on bacon. I was down to under 5# in the deep freeze. I bought 60# of bacon the last time I got a deal.

I just got my Kwiktrip bill and saw that in the insert.  And was wondering if their bacon is any good.  Thanks!  I will stock up instead of buying just one package to try it.

BTW, the bacon-wrapped pork filets (thick little boneless pork chops) are a really good deal when they go on sale for 99¢ each.

I usually buy 30-40 of them for grilling season when they go on sale. Salty little snack turds.

  Yes, they are salty.  I still like them; they are about halfway between cured ham and fresh pork.  I pan fry them in a dry nonstick skillet, with a lid because they are so thick.

I never in a million years thought I would be getting my eggs, bacon, meat, bread, OJ and milk from a filling station.

And, just like Culver's, no locations anywhere near me.

When I was in Iowa in 2018 I got coffee from a Kwikstar in Marion... I didn't much care for it. I found Casey's General Store coffee to be a LOT better.

Casey's does have a pretty good cup of filling station coffee.

Casey's does have a pretty good cup of filling station coffee.

When visiting my parents, my wife discovered, on the day we were leaving, Casey's coffee.

She'd been going to McDonald's every day and was quite annoyed that she could have both saved time AND gotten better coffee at Casey's.

(I hate coffee, so I had absolutely no idea who has good coffee.)

Also, Casey's Pizza is awesome.

"Also, Casey's Pizza is awesome."

That's what my friend says. He's a big pizza fan. I'm ok with pizza generally, but most of the time it's not OK with me for some reason.

Location matters on the pizza. Some are great a few are how did you screw this up so bad it doesn't look or taste like pizza.

I haven't had a bad pizza at any Casey's in Iowa.

There are no Casey's in my area with pizza, most stores look like they just changed the name/decor of former store they bought out.
KwiK Trip pizza is awesome.
