Title: Another Hobby Lobby Boycott
Post by: Ben on September 07, 2020, 11:48:38 AM
Looks like Hobby Lobby stock is going to go up as people who don't shop there anyway call for a boycott:

It appears it was likely a joke from a customer, but the outrage should be funny. I was in a Hobby Lobby for the first time last month, buying some model rocket stuff for my grand niece's visit. Nice store, friendly and polite employees.

I have told my wife that if she gets hit by a bus, after a decent interval, I will look for her replacement at Hobby Lobby.  Based on the one by our house, it seems to be filled with intelligent and creative middle-aged women, and I get a lot of attention when I am there pushing the cart around for my wife.

A stop at Hobby Lobby and then Chick-fil-a is on the list of things to do.

Okay, frozen burritos out of the freezer it is then.
Oh wait, that would be cultural appropriation

CFA folded, actually.

The family still donates, just not in the name of CFA.

So, they folded.

Bent, spindled and mutilated, but certainly not folded.

If the defense of Chick-Fil-A is that the family decided to separate their political contributions from the business itself - non-starter. They tacitly agreed their political causes were offensive to certain customers, or at least inappropriate in a business setting. They. Folded.

Chick fil A decided they were going to instead donate to the rabidly anti-Christian and anti-conservative "southern poverty law center" instead:

I'm not sure that qualifies as only folding.

That's actually funding not just the enemies of the USA but funding evil.

That I did not know. Does that mean they'll be donating the sandwiches next time someone tries to pull a mass shooting at a pro-family organization?

Like Popeye's chicken sandwiches better anyway.
