That's just under a third of my entire 711 square mile county. I'll never understand how people can stand to live all piled on top of each other like that.

Kinda wonder what the political leanings and voting records of the anxious white people in those buildings are.

Heh...

My county is approximately 391 square miles of land (15 square miles of water)...

Population?

Almost 1.5 MILLION.

It's turtles all the way down.

Election night violence?

Is it kind sad that I am taking this as a good sign?   :O

Nope, not a good sign. They don't care who wins, they are just using the election for an excuse to burn. It's not going to stop until we take the kid gloves off.

My county is 18,199 square miles with a population of 46.5k, of which 35k or so are in the staunchly pro-Trump town I live in. I am expecting another boring night in town and I don't really see anyone from the big city (Las Vegas) making the trek up here to do anything when there are plenty of "peaceful protesting" areas to keep them occupied down there.

I stay out of big cities like that.

I'd might in a smaller town, but my wife works and refuses to commute very far. I'm surprised she hasn't requested that we move to the neighboring town (Clear Lake, IA-7 miles away) since she works now.

I do like having all the convenience of the stores by living in a regional town. I remember living in a town of 3000 in western Iowa 20 years ago and every Saturday morning was a 30 mile one way trip to for the Walmart/grocery store run, same if I wanted to see a movie.

I've actually gotten used to that (as BobR said I would have to, living in the intermountain West). Thirty miles is nothing anymore. It helps that (outside of the Boise metro area) the roads are relatively empty, so I don't get worked up over traffic like I always did in CA.

As for unrest, my area just isn't worth their time. Not a big enough audience.

A couple miles from a huge town of 300. Not to worried about problems here. I got used to the 30 minutes to a store years ago.

I think the farthest I have ever lived from a grocery store is maybe 2.5 miles... and that's when I was in college.

When I was a kit we had a grocery store on the other end of town, about 1.5 miles away, and a LOT of stores within a 15 mile trip.

My first job, I was in between a couple of groceries, the closest one being maybe 1.5-2 miles, if that.

When I moved to DC the closest grocery was literally across the street.

And now, where I am, I have 3 Giant foods (including the new one about a half mile away), 3 Safeways, a Whole Foods, an Aldis, a Lidl, 2 Super H Marts, Target, and Walmart within 5 miles.

Town I live in is under 1K, local Quick Mart is about a mile away, and I have 2 towns 30-50K population about 12-15 miles in either direction. New job is about 16 miles in a town of 3K.

What about sick leave?

They can't cancel that.    I forecast more than a few cases of blue flu.

What? They haven't been defunded yet?

Right?   I mean, it's not like this liberal pipe dream can be implemented immediately or anything.   Especially given that in the first two months of all this riot stupidity PPB spent over 7.5 MILLION dollars on overtime and related costs.

USA Today is reporting that Walmart is pulling guns and ammo from their stores nationwide due to concerns over nationwide election violence.

Honestly, I am concerned.  My change in employment has me working in Downtown Columbus, which has seen violence this past summer.  I work in the courthouse, which is probably on a short list of targets for troublemakers.  There's talk of more food shortages if distribution routes are interrupted by unrest.  Yes, I wi be armed and vigilant,  and we have plenty of food to get us through most any shortage.  But I'd really rather not deal with this crap, you know?  Not to mention this nagging anxiety that Biden is going to win, the Senate will go blue, and someone will pass a law banning possession of firearms capable of accepting a magazine that can hold more than ten rounds (basically all semi autos declared assault weapons)

I need a drink...

Given the current buying panic and Walmart's previous move to curtail firearm sales, was there anything left to remove?

I didn’t think dynamite was commonly used anymore.  Pretty sure a gel-based explosive like Tovex is used instead these days.

I’m guessing either flares or fireworks.

I had a great set up till Feb 2018. I reported to the small office 2 miles from the house for over 13 years. They decided I didn't have enough work in my area and I was force relocated to downtown Tulsa, a 94  mile a day commute. Since I had been the night shift I was "lunch on job" so a straight 8 hour work shift. When I went to days i have a mandatory 1 hour unpaid lunch break making a 9 hour day. Add in commute time and I calculate I lost 18 hours a week of free time.

Yep.  They removed 20+ rifles/shotguns from display, plus 2 shopping carts full of ammo at the local WM.  And that's at one of their small supercenters.

What  "previous move to curtail firearm sales" are you referring to?  Far as I know, the only thing WM's done along those lines is to stop selling handgun & AR (5.56 & .223) ammo.  That wasn't done to slow down sales - it was folding to non-existent pressure to get rid of the "evil" things.

Think I need more than a full G-19 and a full spare mag? I DO have my Uplula loader and many boxes of "spare" ammo on hand. I COULD break out the S&W 10-8 and its 2 speed loaders along with the .38 ammo we have on hand... [tinfoil] :P

Not that it matters much. I honestly was unaware that Walmart was still even selling guns and ammo. I haven't been there since like February.

They were probably just storing them in the back anyway.

About the only thing I bought at Walmart in the last 6 months is some 30-30 ammo.  They still had plenty of that sort of ammo.
