Lets just say he won't be trying this again.
It all started with Payton wandering into a concealed carry classroom at Range 702 in Las Vegas. He sat down and started pawing through one of the students’ bag while most of the class had stepped out during a break.
Fortunately, the bag’s owner returned with other class members and confronted the thief. The class instructors ejected Mr. Payton and notified police. The would-be thief lingered outside and the instructors waited outside with him to make sure he didn’t re-enter the building. That proved quite fortuitous.
When officers arrived and tried to make contact, things quickly turned violent. Mr. Payton pulled a screwdriver and managed multiple overhead stabs, seriously injuring the female officer.
Her partner discharged his gun, hitting Payton nine times. At the same time, three of the class instructors fired also, striking Mr. Payton five more times.

Coming out of the gate strong for that 2021 Darwin Award.

I like how in the video, the idiot took issue with the bag's owner trying to stop him from rifling through the bag.

It’s a common trait among thieves to show outrage at being caught in the act.

How to twist the above into a racist incident
So now regular people can shoot Black people in the street along with the cops now?
We want justice for this man
We need to get some laws changed

You can watch the video released by LVMPD which shows him going through someone’s bag, resisting the officers attempt to take him into custody, stabbing the officer and then getting shot, what part are you confused about ?

Hard to riot when you hands are in your coat pockets. Of course they could light up the target to keep warm while they loot it for justice.

I hope that female officer will be okay.

well actually it doesnt matter what race Marvon was. the store employees had no right to get involved after this situation after it went to the parking lot. the police should have never gotten close enough to him for him to physically attack them, if they were not arresting him. and even after he wounded the female officer, the other officer should have been the only one firing his weapon. so dont be surprised when LVMPD files no criminal charges against the employees. however it doesnt stop there. if Marvon surviving family has any sense, they should get an attorney and file civil charges against the employees.....and i guarantee those 3 won't get involves ever again in a situation like they did. there are lots of people that are legally armed that shouldn't be carrying a gun anyway because they just can't wait to shoot someone. but after they do and if they are held responsible, they will quickly find out that they should have minded their own business and stayed out if it.
In the replies to his idiotic statement, he claims to be a former cop. ;/

I also just watched the video.
"Somehow, he got hold of a screwdriver from someplace."
"Maybe he miraculously had a screwdriver that didn't show up in the video."

Saw a news link, which I would have to find again, that said she is recovering

It certainly wasn't in the pocket that his hand was in. /sarcasm

We've been talking about this event on nevadashooters.com and for the most part there has been concern for the truck that was used as a backstop and how well the explanation for the damage went over with the insurance company. =D

Looking at the video, it looked like the female officer was still trying to grab and hold the suspect even after he pulled the screwdriver out and started swinging. The male officer ducked the first swing and pulled back to go to guns. My impression is the female officer should have done the same. I didn't think the suspect was holding her, but maybe.

What you call a really acute failure of the victim selection process.

Obviously the screwdriver was planted by the white dominant oppressors to make their execution of the downtrodden man of color authentic.
