I started this thread because I bought some stuff online, and it (https://www.dlawlesshardware.com/) is the first site I've used that doesn't ask for the CVV/CVC (3-digits on the back of the card). I just checked Amazon, and they don't seem to require it anymore, either.
I've been wondering why online retailers still ask for that, when our new (2-3 year old?) CC machine at work doesn't.
Are some retailers going to keep requiring it for extra security? Or is it something that will just be gradually phased out, as web sites are updated over time?
