Title: Anybody Ever Sear a Steak With a Propane Torch?
Post by: Ben on February 26, 2023, 01:43:29 PM: I just now have a steak in a cast iron pan in the oven. Pre or post searing aside, I have generally just done it by getting the pan real hot on the stovetop.

While searing today, I had the thought of why not use my propane torch to sear it instead? Typing that into the gazoogles actually came up with a lot of hits to food sites that say this is a viable thing. I'm just wondering if anyone here has done it? Regardless, I'm trying it on the next steak.

If by "real torch" you mean one of the ones in my shop, then that's the plan. =D

I ain't buying one a them hundrd ducat Amazon kitchen ones though. =)
