Title: Pork Sandwich
Post by: Ben on March 19, 2023, 11:56:09 AM
I'm taking a break from steak for a while and bought a *expletive deleted*it ton of pork at Costco last week. I was searching for unique recipes and as I just happen to have some artisan bread in the oven right now, I'm going to make this today:

I have all the ingredients except the prosciutto and arugula, and am not a fan of non-cow cheese, so will be using some smoked gouda. I found the recipe using the below search, which brought up a lot of neat pork sandwiches I want to try:

See if you can find the pork chop sandwich recipe from Snappy Lunch in Mount Airy, NC.  They make a great pork chop sandwich.  Snappy Lunch is the diner that Sheriff Andy Taylor (Griffith) used to talk about on the Andy Griffith show.  SWMBO and I have eaten there, and the sandwich lives up to its reputation.

Admittedly I have never tried sheep cheese. I've only ever tried goat cheeses. To each their own, but the goat cheese I have tried just tastes off to me.

I LOVE aged manchego...

That would be perfect on that sandwich.

Okay, that was really good. It also didn't take that long to make as I was able to have a few things going at once. The smoked paprika paste (I'm a big paprika fan anyway) added a really unique kick to it. I will definitely be making it more often.

I didn't (if you were talking to me). I kinda used what I had in the house so I wouldn't have to drive to the city for a spur of the moment craving.

I didn't even know what Mostarda was until I just now looked it up. I'm not even sure I could find it anywhere in Potatoho.  =)

I can't find it in North Cornbred (but not cousin f'ing, like Missouri) Iowa.

Making this today for friends, had to make mostarda from scratch earlier this week.

I also steaked up a pork loin and pounded them out like schnitzel.

Also I have a wedge of manchego cheese.

I'm going to do it party sandwich style. I got two huge Italian loaves.

Also if the world ends today, it's because 3 redheaded women have gathered at my house, my girlfriend, my friend's wife and a spunky mutual friend of my gf and me.
