It's probably something some grad student cooked up for publicity, on the capabilities of nanofabrication. I could do the same thing on the FIB/SEM downstairs, but my research advisor gets billed at $50/hr.
Maybe a rare occurence, but then you only have to get murdered once to ruin your whole day.
