Maybe the feds could bust him for hate crime, "intimidation because of sexual orientation" like they charged the kid at Jena, Louisiana on racial intimidation "speech" as a hate crime.

Hmmm.  Between Phelps and "hate crime," I'll take Phleps.   rolleyes

HIJACK!!!

Bush, then Governor, said something intelligent (once...just once).
Regarding the dragging death of a young black man by three white guys.  Seems that putting them up for Capital Murder wasn't enough for Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson.  The were critisizing Bush and Texas for not having Hate Crime legislation in this case.  Bush's response?  "Not like we can kill them (the three white guys) twice for it"

A few years later, Al Gore explained that hate crimes should receive special penalties, because they threaten a whole "community," not just one person.  That almost clicked with me, until I remembered that someone at my low-rent, crime-ridden apartment complex had been stabbed recently, while my girlfriend and I were literally within a stone's throw, at my apartment.  I guess Al doesn't understand that our "community" felt a little threatened, there, too.  And race had nothing to do with it.
