Anyone else using Life Lock?
« on: March 31, 2008, 08:11:56 AM »
I'm seriously considering it, or one of the other two major companies that offers the same service.

One of my coworkers has a kid in Italy at school, and someone has tried to tap one of her accounts. Fortunately an on-the-ball clerk flagged the transactions and they didn't go through.

I don't know a lot about Lifelock, but I read somewhere you could do most of the same things yourself (although your time is probably worth more than the $10 a month they charge). However, I did find a pretty interesting site with credit protection comparisons which seemed pretty helpful.

Personally, I do not understand how a bunch of people demanding a bigger govt can call themselves anarchist.
I meet lots of folks like this, claim to be anarchist but really they're just liberals with pierced genitals. - gunsmith

I read some parts of that comparison earlier. I want to really go through it this evening.

One thing I have an issue with is that they want a mobile phone, and I don't carry mine.

That's probably because they call you to authorize stuff. How else do you think it'd work?

Psyionic Connubriation.

Of course they call you to authorize stuff.

The big issue is I don't really want to have to carry my mobile phone 24x7x365 waiting for some huck to try to buy Kansas with my credit.

I want to know if it can be made to work thusly...

1. Credit activitiy.

2. Lifelock attempts to contact me at office/home.

3. If I'm contactable, great, if not:

4. Message left and transaction pended until such time that I surface.

I've got an e-mail into them on that subject.

I was complaining about that, but not asking about it.  cool
