Okay. Some home invaders fled into a mall and scattered. So what do the cops do?

They SEAL THE MALL! With the customers still inside, on "lockdown", so the perps can't escape. So what happens to the poor shoppers now trapped in a mall with possibly armed and most certainly dangerous felons?

Too bad! Acceptable loss to bag their guys, I guess.

WTF...?

Dolphin Mall paralyzed as cops hunt home invaders

BY TIM CHAPMAN
Police hunted down and captured at least two suspected home invaders who turned the Dolphin Mall into their midday hideout.

The fugitives fanned out through the mall -- one dashing into the Marshall's, the other ducking into the Old Navy -- after a home invasion in the area.

Someone, possibly a guard, was pistol-whipped during the noontime drama. For a while, the doors to the mall were sealed off to make sure the suspects didn't escape.

Here is what happened, according to police on the scene:

Four armed men broke into a home at Northwest 10th Street and 129th Avenue. After the home invasion, they took off in a white minivan.

The occupant of the home took off after them in a green car.

The van stopped at the Dolphin Mall, 11401 NW 12th St., dropping off at least two of the occupants. They dashed into the mall. One person, believed to be a mall guard, was pistol whipped.

A suspect was reportedly spotted on the roof of Dave and Buster's.

Miami-Dade Fire Rescue was called to treat the person who was pistol whipped. Within an hour, patrons were being allowed to exit the mall.

After dropping off the two fugitives, the van continued on its journey, still followed by the green car.

Patrons at a bar toward the middle of the mall remained oblivious to the manhunt.

"Lockdown" is not about your safety. It's about making the paperwork easier for the cops.

Still another reason to spend the bulk of one's mall time at the bar they got there. laugh

I'd be inclined to pull a fire alarm or go through an alarmed door . . . or even throw a chair through a display window to get OUT of there.
Trump won in 2016. Democrats haven't been so offended since Republicans came along and freed their slaves.

Dade county cops were, I believe, all issued ARs to have in their cars after the incident with the bad guy hosing a couple with a WASR. I do not believe they've received any intensive training.

In other words, cop, adrenaline, someone popping out a fire door, bad.

A mall guard was pistol whipped?  Where's the Mall Ninja? grin

This is criminal=Criminal Confinement.  The Chief needs to be fired and the officers involved need federal prison time.
