Better Know a Lobby - Gun Control
Episode: #04065 Views: 21495
Stephen wants Brady Campaign President Paul Helmke to name one situation where you don't need a gun. (06:29)

"Those ladies need those guns to protect themselves from being objectified"

dang i figured it would be a good time for gunnies but...
Steven was CCWing an AT4!

"infringe infringe infringe,
you might as well wear a fringe jacket"

"Imagine how much more hopeful the story of the gospel would be if Jesus had a gun"

I think people are tired of the "a lot of people have been killed by guns card"

Sorry to get all serious, but, was it not deeply revealing how he responded to Colbert's question about defending himself against a knife attack?  "I would trip you."  "I would appeal to your rational side."  "I would kick you down there."

Sad.

Well, he sure didn't give me a reason to start watching his show.
Or TV at all.

It makes you wonder if Helmke has ever seen the show, or heard of it.  Did he really think he'd be able to deliver a serious pitch?

Admittedly the story of the gospel *would* be far more hopeful if Jesus was carring a brace of Glocks under his toga. grin

here is the report from Sarah Brady's reality distortion field:

Last night, Brady President Paul Helmke went face–to–face with Stephen Colbert on The Colbert Report. Click here to watch the video.
Paul held his own for the Brady Campaign and sensible gun laws with Mr. Colbert and his brilliantly outlandish antics.
Sincerely,

Sarah Brady, Chair

Did it look like he got kind of nervous when Colbert was pulling out some of those pistols, and other various weaponry.
"so I ended up getting the above because I didn't want to make a whole production of sticking something between my knees and cranking. To me, the cranking on mine is pretty effortless, at least on the coarse setting. Maybe if someone has arthritis or something, it would be more difficult for them." - Ben

Yes, I thought the "I would trip you and if that didn't work I would talk to you and if that didn't work I would kick in you junk".   That guy must think that every honest person is half ninja and half Chuck Norris and every criminal has a below average IQ and is in poor health.

I wished Colbert would of asked him his grandmother is to do if someone attacks her with a knife.
