Had my LCP for three weeks. No time to shoot. *pout*
« on: May 21, 2008, 09:09:45 AM »
I picked up a Ruger LCP a couple weeks ago (three weeks ago tomorrow, in fact).  I intended to take it to the range the next day.  No Joy.  It's still sitting on my kitchen counter, all shiny new and beckoning, without a single shot fired through it.  It's looking like this weekend will be out, too.

Dang! Dang! Dang! Dang! Dang! Dang!  angry

On the upside, it's a really nice piece.  Roughly the same size and feel as a KelTec P3AT, but with a distinct and welcome improvement in materials, fit, and finish.  When manually operating it everything is much smoother and has a higher quality feel to it than the KelTec.

If I were going to buy another pocketable semi, the LCP would be top of the list.  I had a P32 that was rock solid reliable.  I'm pretty much a revolver only guy these days though.

It looks neat, much nicer than the Kel-Tec, which is...sort of lacking in finish, but the SR9 recall involving drop safety scared me a bit as regards Ruger. undecided

Any gun I buy has to be drop-safe in all circumstances.

I feel for you.  I picked up a Glock 19 three months ago and haven't put round 1 through it.
If the bandersnatch seems even mildly frumious, best to shun it.  Really. http://www.cctplastics.com

I've got an M1917 that I haven't ever shot. ought it in 2005 I think.  Needs some kind of sights on it before I do that. Smiley
