I prefer "Let people find their own truth." Because it's different for everyone.
I personally dislike pushy evangelists of any sort. If someone tells me their way is the only answer, I'll go right ahead and point out all the flaws and contradictions. Just leave me alone, and I won't.
It's why I like New England. Religion is a private thing. Evangelism is pretty much unheard of, and asking people about religion is considered rude.
That may be true for the rural areas of northern New England, but it ain't true of the more populated regions of southern New England ... unfortunately.
When I lived in a Connecticut suburb, it was like a contest to see if the Jehovah's Witnesses or the Seventh Day Adventists could prosletyze (sp?) more often in my neighborhood. It never seemed to occur to them that if they found me under the hood of a car, with the head off the engine and dirt, grease and oil up to my elbows that I just *MIGHT* have other things on my mind than a fascinating discussion of exactly why I preferred my particular denomination to theirs.
I threw their handouts in the trash, too.
Where I live now, I don't think I've seen a door-to-door purveyor of religion of any kind for more than ten years. It's a wonderful thing.
