One ate the other.  YUCK!  Can you imagine your twin 'eating' you?

Chances are he/she was pushed out. Apparently the Law od the Jungle applies even to adorable little hummingbirds. Shocked

Anyone else find themselves laughing all day about the Cain reference?
I thought it was funny.

No, I think the other one was Cain.

Obviously, he was un-Abel.

If you want an eye-opening lesson in the Law of the Jungle, set up a hummingbird feeder on your porch.

'Adorable' doesn't come to mind.  'Savage', 'bloodthirsty', 'psychotic' and 'rabid' do, though.

It's amazing how much 'pissed-off' one of those tiny little bodies can hold.

Those have always been words I associated with humming birds.  Of course my introduction to them was setting up a bird feeder at a campground in my youth.  It is amazing how much a tiny bird can scare a kid.

And just sitting there hovering is just wrong......very cool, but wrong.

I was on my lady friend's deck one evening, watching the hummingbirds feed, when I saw one of the bigger (?) ones slaughtering wasps.  I got up to take a better look, and the little beggar hovered in mid-air, looked me up and down, then made a noise like fingernails being raked down a blackboard, letting me know that any time I felt frisky, he'd be glad to stomp a mudhole in my butt and walk it dry.

I took a good look at that knitting-needle beak and the not-exactly-sane look in that little green SOB's eyes and decided on the better part of valour.

And I was a fully-grown adult.  Cheesy
