Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog
« on: July 19, 2008, 06:26:32 AM »
http://www.drhorrible.com/

I saw this link on another site and thought I would post this over here.  A sort of superhero/supervillain musical by Josh Whedon.  Nathan Fillion plays the hero.  I thought some of you might like it.  It is actually pretty funny.

Of course, the fan T-shirts are a little disturbing.  Smiley

To be available for purchase or rental on DVD after a bit.

Have to admit, didn't see the end coming.

Got to love when Nathan drives home what the hammer is.

I generally hate/loathe/despise musicals, but that was hysterical.

I thought this was hilarious.  NPH did a great job of chewing the scenery.  Nice to see him doing good work after the Harold and Kumar movies.

Neil Patrick Harris has been in tons of stuff.  He's one of the few who has successfully made the transition from child actor (Doogie Howser) to a reasonably successful career as an adult.

Dr. Horrible is a really good show.  Whedon manages to take a truckload of hoary comic book cliches and make them quite entertaining.

So is that Dollhouse show of his any good?
I've not seen it on TV (not that I watch much TV) and I haven't heard anything about it at all.

Sunday it felt a little better, but it was quite irritated from me rubbing it.

It's back up, on Hulu. Don't know how long they are leaving it up this time. In case anyone missed it the first time around.

Thanks for the link, Fjolnirsson. I had missed the third act.

I just watched it, and it turns-out there's a guy in it that I work with (the "Purple Pimp" that Dr. Horrible fist bumps right before entering the room with Dark Horse at the end).

Sweet.
These Joss Whedon projects are about the only thing that have ever made me think about taking up acting.  I guess every kid DOES go through that phase.

"Brand New Day" keeps growing on me.  I will be buying the DVD when it comes out.  I wonder if I could find the stuff to go as the evil Dr. Horrible on Halloween, and would anyone else get the reference?

PS: and the role of Bad (not Dark) Horse was played by Dobber.  With his terrible death whinny.

I love the Bad Horse thing, especially when his letters were sung by the cowboys (he'll make you his mare).

Also got a big kick out of the first episode's opening.  Yeah, I'll probably buy this one...

I'm planning on going as Capt. Hammer, actually. Whether anyone else gets the reference or not.

And yeah, "Brand New Day" is my new earworm.
