DCM afiliated organization - join online?
« on: October 14, 2008, 11:30:55 AM »
Does anyone know of an organization affiliated with the OCMP/DCM that I can join on-line or via fax and get my proof of membership right away?  I'd like to buy a rifle from the OCMP, but its been years since I've done it.  I'm a life NRA memeber and have a CCW, so I have those areas covered.  Thanks in advance, gurus!

You can also just get your C&R.

The Garand collectors Association worked for me.  They electronically deliver their membership list to the CMP.  I joined the GCA and mailed my CMP order the same day and it went through just fine.  I just included a signed letter I wrote stating I had just joined the GCA.

Thanks - I guess I will join the Garand Collector's ass'n - I was leaning that way anyway.  I'm looking to get some greek 30-06 and a couple of the Mossberg M44's - I've heard good things about the ones they are shipping out lately.

Rich, since you are active duty Army, all you need to do is fax them a copy of your ID card. There are exceptions for folks that are / have been military.

Membership in CMP Affiliated Organization:
You must provide a copy of your current membership card or other proof of membership. This requirement cannot be waived. The CMP currently has over 2,000 affiliated organizations located in many parts of the country.

Membership in many of these organizations costs $25.00 or less and can be accomplished online. A listing of affiliated organizations can be found by clicking on our Club Search web page at http://clubs.odcmp.com/cgi-bin/clubSearch.cgi. If you have any difficulty in locating a club, please contact the CMP at 256-835-8455 or by emailing CMP Customer Service. We will find one for you. In addition to shooting clubs, the CMP also has several special affiliates. Membership in these organizations satisfies our requirement for purchase. These special affiliates include: Congressionally chartered veterans' organizations such as the VFW, AL, DAV, MCL, etc. U.S. Military services (active or reserves), National Guard, to include retirees. Professional 501(c)3 law enforcement organizations and associations such as the FOP, NAPO, NSA, etc.

Note: Club membership IS required for purchase of rifles, parts, and ammunition.

Club membership is NOT required for instructional publications or videos or CMP memorabilia.

Alas, I have never had the privledge of wearing the uniform.  I am but a lowly contractor who has worked FOR the Army most of my adult life.  No retirement, but no P.T. either... =D

I guess that's what I get for assuming you were Army by your email address.

In Texas, the TSRA is an affiliated organization.

The Garand Collector's Association is the one most recommend for a quick fix.
