A Short History of the Internets' Origins.

The first internet was invented by Aaron Burr in 1473. Al Gore did not invent the internet, although he was one of the researchers who developed the first modem in 1603. Prior to telephonic transmission, internets were limited to one computer only, although two computers in the same room were sometimes joined by pneumatic tube. This was first attempted by Sir Isaac Newton in 1512, although Steve Jobs was the first to do so successfully. Jobs perfected this technique by 1540, the same year in which Samuel Gompers first linked two computer internets by passenger pigeon.

You forgot the bit about Alexander Graham Bell yelling to Watson that his email was down.

Or the part when they first powered up all the banks of ENIAC, and the first math equation processing was interrupted by an incoming message promising to "enlarge" something.
