The "worm" is in mezcal, not tequila.

According to Wikipedia (!),

Quote
The use of the worm is exclusive to mezcal, since the Mexican standards authority, Norma Oficial Mexicana (NOM), prohibits adding insects or larvae to tequila.

Zales Tequila?

I'm wondering if the lime and the salt can be converted to precious stones too.

"First of all we turn the liquid tequila into vapour by using a lot of heat. The gas molecules are then broken up into tiny particles. Then we increase the heat even further - to around 800 degrees celsius."

"The end result is that we get carbon atoms which are then deposited in the shape of a very thin diamond film," he added.

Diamond coating? Do they even REALIZE what the applications of such a coating would be?!  :O

Somewhere in this is an "on the rocks" joke, but I can't get it into a snappy one-liner that really works.

PTK, I am pretty sure they know what is possible with such technology. That is most likely what generated the publicity piece.

Carbon in the diamond crystalline matrix is one of the best heat conductors known. Also diamond are very slippery.
