My wife discourages me from looking for a GF. :)

The Internet is only partly real. Get a hobby you like and participate in it. Shooting, coin collecting, reading, whatever. Join groups of people of like mind. Some of my most favorite times are those spent shooting and at coin club events.

ilbob's got the right idea. Get into some activity you enjoy, but do it because you enjoy it and not to find a girlfriend. There'll be women there who enjoy it, too.

Not quite in the vein but...

I wasn't studying getting a girlfriend and damn sure didn't expect to find one while working as a bouncer in a drag queen show bar, but that's where I met Miss Priss. Two and a half years later we were married. You never know where someone who tickles your fancy will turn up.

Go to the library, sit around reading books, hit on library chicks.

I only go to 2 forums. This and a forum related to my trade. I don't post much there because all posts are expected to be relevant so I do most of my posting here. Got burned out on THR years ago, like you said, same old stuff day in and day out. Once you've read it all a few times over you get worn out on it.

here's a webpage someone just turned me on to, good for a hoot:
