Regardless of what one thinks of the Obama administration and his decorum towards monarchy, as the President went over there I couldn't help but think of this...
Amazing to think how far we've come in the last 200 years. Truly amazing. Can you imagine the shock on the faces of Wiberforce
et al
at seeing a black president of the Colonies visit their Queen?

I doubt it would be any more shocking to them than to have seen any of the black Prime Ministers of any of their former colonies visiting.
Hell, Mugabe was even given a CBE some time ago, although that was rescinded.
