See Redbelt

Chiwetel Ejiofor (the Operative in Serenity) stars as Mike Terry a martial arts trainer in this masterful movie.

If you are at all interested in MMA, combatives, honor, excellent movie making, or acting see Redbelt.

The synopsis that you will find when you search the movie title will not tell you (unless you read the spoilers) just what the movie is about.

The plot is simple enough, but the depths of character we see are amazing and and all done in a very short run time.

I was so into the character of Mike and respected him so much that when I saw what the direction the plot was taking I turned off the DVD because I could not bear to watch this happen to someone I cared that much about. I'm glad I went back, this is one of the best character movies I have ever seen.

Oh, and no worries, there is no chop-socky Hollywood martial arts silliness in this movie.

SWEET!  Will see!  I really like Chewey-toy.   =)

He can also be seen in the excellent Inside Man, though he has to play second fiddle to the obnoxiously cocky Denzel Washington.

Watched it on cable yesterday. Implausible in spots, but great viewing anyway. Rekindled my interest in MA training.

I enjoyed it.  If CE hadn't been in it, I would have never noticed, even with David Mamet at the helm.
