For no apparent reason, my Internet Explorer is now giving me this error message when I log on:

Internet Explorer - Search Provider Default
A program on your computer has corrupted your default search provider setting for Internet Explorer.
Internet Explorer has reset this setting to your original search provider, Live Search (search.live.com).
Internet Explorer will now open Search Settings, where you can change this setting or install more search providers.

Anybody know what this is? It's IE8.

Spyware caused by using windows
On two occasions, I have been asked [by members of Parliament], "Pray, Mr. Babbage, if you put into the machine wrong figures, will the right answers come out?" I am not able to rightly apprehend the kind of confusion of ideas that could provoke such a question.

I'd say IE is your first problem.  Fix- http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/products/

Second, probably some sort of spyware.

I'd say the basic problem is you're using Windoze Exploder and not Firefox.

You have a spyware infection

Install the free version of malwarebytes to get rid of it:

 http://download.cnet.com/Malwarebytes-Anti-Malware/3000-8022_4-10804572.html

Then install Firefox :)
