Firefly Wallpaper
« on: May 14, 2009, 02:00:51 AM »
Yeah, my Google-Fu is permanently set at white-belt.   ;/

I'm looking for a desktop background for the new rig.  I want a shot of Serenity in space, "in the black."  I see a lot of pic's of Serenity in "flight," mostly showing her against a blue-white planet.  I was wanting more stars around her, though.  Anybody got anything?

I decided not to use this one:

Don't you have the DVD set or movie?

Put the DVD in your computer and look at the "help" menu of your DVD player software.  It'll tell you how to do a screen grab.  Save any scene you want as a desktop background.

Just by default, run the DVD player in full screen and get to a scene you like.  Hit the print screen button on your keyboard and it will get saved to the clipboard.

Open MS Paint or GIMP or some other program and hit Ctrl-V.  Your screen grab will show up.  Save it, then set it as your desktop background.

It's an ugly little ship in the middle of a big, indifferent galaxy run by jerks.

Where do I get mine?

I meant that the galaxy is run by jerks, not the ship.

You can paint a pretty picture on the bow and give it a nice name, but the Firefly class was never meant to win any beauty contests.  That being said, I'll take one over any sleek toy that can't take a fifth of the beating.

Enough of this.  I'm going to go watch the Serenity DVD special features now.

No *expletive deleted*it.  If they build a car half as good as they "built" that ship, I want one.

And an extra primary buffer panel or two.

Can't forget the incredibly cute and perpetually cheerful mechanic.

I need that in Captain Dummy talk.
Some days even my lucky rocketship underpants won't help.

Bring me my Broadsword and a clear understanding.
Get up to the roundhouse on the cliff-top standing.
Take women and children and bed them down.
Bless with a hard heart those that stand with me.
Bless the women and children who firm our hands.
Put our backs to the north wind.
Hold fast by the river.
Sweet memories to drive us on,
for the motherland.
