APS looks better in Compatibility View
« on: May 08, 2009, 01:09:36 PM »
Okay, you guys running your hotrod firefox, etc. be kind.

Now that IE has upgraded to ver 8, there is an option to view sites in "compatibility view" (CV) for "websites designed for older browsers."

I find that if I don't use CV, I sometimes get text placed where it shouldn't be.  Do you think APS will be upgraded in the future to not need to be viewed in CV?

The other way around, my friend.

IE has never fully implemented the net standards properly.  That is one reason you see so much crap html in some web sites, so thet they look good in IE's FUBAR'ed implementation.  When you see, "Best viewed in IEx.y" you can be sure it is ate up.

One day, IE may properly render web pages.  We wait with bated breath.

Trust me, I'm under no illusion that IE is the way and the light.  ;/
But I'm used to it.  It works for me - most of the time.  If it was enough of a headache, I'd go to some other browser.  But for now, between putting up with IE and installing and getting used to something else, IE is the lesser of the devils.
