Most unwelcome spiders in the house warrant a small blunt object. That one warrants opening the family weapons locker.

Ok... so we need to get one for Grampster too... :D

Y'all are in good company: mom-in-law does NOT deal with spiders. She once actually got out of a moving vehicle (leaving her kids behind) because of a spider. Told them as she was bailing "there's a spider: deal with it!"...

I don't freak out at the sight of them or anything; they don't bother me a bit if I chance across one outside. The only reason they bother me in the house is after I see it, I can't get the image of it potentially crawling on me in bed out of my head.

Just don't think about that bird spider crawling on you in bed. The feel of it's legs touching your face as it creeps across you...

  • It's not the years, it's the mileage.

What was that? We have a third person who wants a bird spider of their very own? :D

I would suggest Mosquitoes, but they just keep coming back no matter how many you kill.

Attracting a small colony of bats to the neighborhood is the best way to end that problem. We have one that comes around every summer. They are the ultimate mosquito killers.

Now THAT looks like a spider that could drop an aircraft like a fly....  :O
