Yeah, plenty of those around.  But you gotta admit, when you unsuspectingly walk through a web and get one on your shirt or head, they have your full attention.  :D

On some spring and fall mornings when the light is just right, you can drive down the road in east texas and see the dew glittering off their webs high in the trees and it looks like an ice storm.

Bet that. When I was 14 and my sister was 15 she ran into a web in our front yard while we were running to catch the bus for school. Great big web, great big spider, and she hit it dead center so the spider was on her chest. I was about six feet behind her and didn't see the web, all I knew was she suddenly went pentecostal - spinning around flailing her arms, screaming, long hair flying, threw her books every which way - it was quite a sight. I thought she'd lost her mind and so did the kids at the bus stop and on the bus. No school for her that day, she spent the day in bed, recuperating.
