Anti-Tea Party Correspondent's Contract Not Renewed by CNN

At least for now, something good came out of one of the TEA Parties.  Remember her trying to get an argument from the speaker and others?

The last time we saw CNN correspondent Susan Roesgen, she was arguing with folks at the April 15 Tea Party in Chicago claiming the event was "anti-government, anti-CNN [and] highly promoted by the right-wing conservative network Fox."

Although CNN officials won't blame the decision specifically on this event, the network has decided not to renew her contract.

All together now: Aaaaaawwww.

As reported by TVNewser Thursday:

TVNewser has learned CNN correspondent Susan Roesgen's contract will not be renewed and she will be leaving the network. [...]

Roesgen took a break for a few weeks after that reporting and returned to the air in May covering the Drew Peterson arrest. Most recently, she covered Michael Jackson's death from Los Angeles. Roesgen joined CNN in 2005.

When TVNewser asked whether Roesgen's comments at the Chicago tea party rally had anything to do with her not being renewed, a CNN spokesperson said, "I can't comment on personnel matters."

So is it actually possible that doing a poor job really can have some consequences in the news industry today?

Who'd have thought it?

A formulaic sacrifice to the volcano god Propriety, but I'm still pleased.

I'm sure MSNBC will hire her. Didn't they just hire Elliot Spitzer?

Unconfirmed, but I heard she twice applied to and was turned down by Fox News. That couldn't have anything to do with her attitude towards them. :)

So she wanted to plan anti-government racist hate-fests, or she wanted to work for a network that gets ratings?
