Lucky Uncle Ted: 40th anniversary of Chappaquiddick
« on: August 13, 2009, 12:51:52 AM »
Today was the 40th anniversary of Ted Kennedy's supreme episode of forgetfulness. He forgot that he'd driven his car off a bridge in Chappaquiddick, and left Mary Jo Kopechne to die. Some who have studied the "accident" conclude that Kopechne may have been alive for quite some time after the car went in the river. But, of course, Teddy needed a nap.

As liberal icons go, few have the stature of Senator Edward Kennedy. Not even Dr. Kevorkian.

Congratulations, Teddy. Mary Jo sleeps with the fishes, and you're a hero. Virgil Sollozzo would be proud.

The fact that the people of Mass. keep electing him makes me think we should revoke their statehood.

I didn't realize that yesterday was the anniversary.  Makes it even more ironic that on the same day he was awarded the medal of freedom.  Unfortunately I am not making this up:

Somewhere far beyond the grave, George III is laughing himself silly at us.

All I could think about upon hearing of the Medal of Freedom award was Chappaquiddick.  I had no idea it was also the 40th anniversary.  Obviously I would never had made the connection if I only relied on the main stream media.  Hacks.

I will make the only observation about Kennedy that my Christian faith will allow: I hope the man retires from politics tomorrow, and lives many more years far, far away from the Senate.
