Anyone see "The Whale That Exploded" on NatGeo tonight?
« on: August 22, 2009, 09:39:28 PM »
It was GROSS!  A dead whale that was being transported by truck exploded on the streets of Taiwan.  Blood, guts, blubber, etc. was everywhere.

Try this one on for size: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1_t44siFyb4

There's a whole website devoted to it: http://www.theexplodingwhale.com/
If there really was intelligent life on other planets, we'd be sending them foreign aid.

Conservatives see George Orwell's "1984" as a cautionary tale.  Progressives view it as a "how to" manual.

My wife often says to me, "You are evil and must be destroyed." She may be right.

Liberals believe one should never let reason, logic and facts get in the way of a good emotional argument.

The Taiwan one was awesome, mainly due to the location (and surprise).

Rocketman, I had never heard of that until you posted it.  Could there be a more exciting job than "blow-up-dead-whales" guy?  How about practicing on a smaller one? :D :D

Well on this show they were trying to figure out why it exploded while being transported.  At first they thought someone purposely stuck explosives inside of it, but after speaking with experts and analyzing how it was lifted out of the water, etc., they said it was probably the gases that built up inside the body and BAM!  What a mess, though!     Pretty interesting to watch if anyone can catch a repeat of the show.

Wow, I can't believe the bear survived the shock and the fall as well.  Must be like a cat with 9 lives or something, lol.
