Henry Rifle TV Commercial
« on: February 09, 2010, 07:59:32 PM »
I saw a commercial on the FX channel, IIRC, for Henry rifles. It is a good commercial and it actually made me want to buy one just to thank Henry for making the commercial.

Firearm commercials are pretty rare, especially when not associated with a hunting show.   This commercial was on during a Bruce Willis, Ben Affleck, and others movie. Not a gun movie, this is the one where they rocket up to an asteroid to blow it up and save Earth.

Anyone else seen it?

Bruce Willis dies in the end.

I see it, and several other well produced shooting sports commercials, on Outdoor channel during their Wednesday Night at the Range programming.

My coworker brought a Henry rifle because of that commercial and another program that showed more about the Henry company.

I see them on those channels also.  But it was only recently I saw Henry firearms commercials on the SciFi channel.

I can only guess they had some extra cash from the last year and thought they would try to branch out their advertising this year.  IMO, it is very nice to see firearms culture branching out a bit.  I guess it could also be that rates are cheaper due to the recession and they got a cheap deal to show the commercial over a range of cable channels.

Henry Firearms is also not advertising evil black rifles.  I wonder what would be said if Stag Arms started advertising.  :)

Pretty neat.

Do Henrys really have that text on the barrels?  That's worse than the novel Ruger puts on theirs.

No, but I like that one. I think the writing on the barrel is just for the commercial to make it easy to read.

The commercial I saw showed the steps needed to make Henry rifles and emphasized that all of their raw materials come from the US.

I got a buddy who bought a big bore Henry because of the video.

I shot it and must say the action is glass smooth.

I was considering getting a Marlin 44 mag rifle, but those Henry's look pretty good to.  I have no idea where Marlin sources their stuff from.

Bruce Willis was already dead!!

I don't know if I'd get a centerfire Henry, as I've heard that they tend to "shoot loose" over time.

The .22s are pretty sweet and attractively priced, though.

My Christmas gift to my MiL was talking FiL into buying a .22mag lever action. Didn't take much talking, I was surprised, he is usually too chicken to do such. Now she is convinced that the trip to Cabela's was planned all along to separate her from his money, we really just went there for the tourism of it all.  =D I gave him a used Leupold VXII since he wants to get a mount and scope it. Nice little rifle as long as you understand that the brass reciever isn't actually brass. Pretty though, hope to get him sighted in soon.

I saw a Marlin 1894 stainless in 44 Mag that I picked up at a show the other day.  Nice rifle.  Shoots nicely also.
