new to me
« on: June 11, 2010, 04:23:29 PM »
It is much more powerful to seek Truth for one's self.  Seeing and hearing that others seem to have found it can be a motivation.  With me, I was drawn because of much error and bad judgment on my part. Confronting one's own errors and bad judgment is a very life altering situation.  Confronting the errors and bad judgment of others is usually hypocrisy.

Anyone who takes inspiration from 3rd world revolutionary communists is probably not someone I would like.

You guys have to understand that the people revelling in power now are the same hippy scum that caused society to crash and burn in the late 60s. These ones are the few that didn't totally waste themselves on drugs. They'll wage their war on society with a vengeance for another 2-1/2 years until we come to our senses and throw them the hell out and punish any middle-roaders who went along with them, to boot. I fear what they'll do as the realize that they're goners in 2012.

Here's a thought. What if they are pretty sure they are going to lose in a legal, Constitutional election in 2012 and are doing anything they can to advance their cause before then?

I still say if we throw them out of office, it's not a great loss to them, for they know they will be back before too long to continue wreaking their havoc...especially since Republicans aren't going to do much to repeal or nullify what they pass now.

Leatherneck:

Do you foresee them using the reins of power to attempt to dodge the 2012 bullet headed towards them?  Via courts, or suspension of elections, or even by legislative fiat ("We the Congress propose in HR-666, that because domestic terrorism sponsored by the Tea Party has the power to radically disrupt legitimate government functions, we should postpone all Federal elections for 6 years."  "Approved, B.H. Obama.")?

Or will it be more insidious via gerrymandering after the Census?

Or some other mechanism?

Folks on our side were claiming that Clinton would pull something like that before he left office.  People on the Left said the same thing of GW Bush, too.  I doubt the Left will try that in 2012.  It would ignite a hell of a row if they did.

Conservatives see George Orwell's "1984" as a cautionary tale.  Progressives view it as a "how to" manual.

I think we are more likely to see monumental scale election fraud attempted. ACORN isn't gone, just gone low profile.
They managed to get Al Franken elected with enough questionable votes that IMO they shuld have tossed the whole election and started over.
I suspect we will see more of that in the mid-terms this fall and again in 2012.

A row only Michael Bay could imagine.
